Metalizing

Metalizing can now be a more localized application using liquid polyester based metals which can be applied to a variety of substrates to add special effect. It can also be applied to cover completely most items and in turn be polished to give the effect desired.

This material is extremely versatile compared to casting in that small areas of a sign or specialty item can be masked off and the metal applied to that area only, enabling unique real metal effect to be added to a project without the horrendous cost associated with casting a single item.

Metals available to be applied in this manner are: Aluminum, Brass, Bronze, Nickel, Stainless Steel, Gold and Silver.

There are several methods of application including screen printing which enables very fine detail to be preserved in the end result.

Here are a few sample pics with application details.

Extruded Features This sample has Bronze applied to a piece of polyester/acrylic with the text extruded. After metal application, the extruded parts were polished to simulate a cast plaque look.	Engraved Features This piece has the text engraved and the liquid metal was poured. This allows the metal to settle and sort irregularly and when polished, presents an "Antique" type of finish.	Applied Selectively This piece shows the metal liquid applied to the text area only, with the substrate masked off. After curing, the mask was removed and the item was then polished.
